The European Union and the Portuguese Government’s MADRP have drawn up a set of Rules and/or Regulations, with the aim of increasing the credibility of the Control and Certification process, demanding through them total effectiveness, competence and impartiality in the OC’s performance, as well as the guarantee of impartiality and independence between them and the Operators. Based on this assumption, we initially understood to set up CERTIALENTEJO – Certificação de Produtos Agrícolas, Lda., from which we submitted, to the then D.G.D.R., later I.D.R.Ha., and current GPP, the request for recognition as a Control and Certification Body (OC).
Later, with a focus on growth, expansion, and acceptance that have been verified and consolidated in recent years, the partners of this company felt the need to change the company name for greater, better, and more effective market penetration nationally and internationally, giving rise to CERTIS – Controlo e Certificação, Lda, Lda. In response to customer requests, they also deemed it appropriate to offer more services, such as certification of Forest Management and Chain of Custody according to the references of the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC), among others.
This Company has partners and collaborators who, due to their academic training and professional experience, can guarantee quality and impartial work, always with respect for compliance with Portuguese and Community Standards.
They also ensure total confidentiality with respect to operators, preparers, distributors, and the entire surrounding system, committing to trigger the mechanisms that make it possible to have the necessary material and human resources for the entire control and certification process.
